Description

PROTO - 4 in. Full Knuckle SCS V3 Description

Made in California!

The PROTO SCS V3 is the first SCS made In-House in San Diego, CA in the new PROTO CNC machine shop and started life as a restock of the SCS V2. While machining the V2 restock, Andrew Broussard quickly realized there were simple tooling and programming improvements that could be added to slim down the V2 by rounding off the front profile and scalloping out material between the bolt knuckles and add some machined engraving to create a new look while maintaining the iconic PROTO SCS aesthetic.

Andrew Broussard invented, named and PATENTED the Standard Compression System (SCS) after he developed the first threadless forks for freestyle scootering and sought to improve on his first compression system, the Inverted Compression System (ICS). Once the first PROTO SCS was released it truly set the standard for freestyle scooter compatibility. Over the years not much has changed because it is very difficult to make substantial improvements on such a beautifully simple and effective product but V2 SCS did receive larger 8mm Bolts and an offset slot to increase holding power and a spreader bolt to ease servicing. The new PROTO SCS V3 took the foundation of the V2 and brought it to the future.
